Each day there will be an early morning yoga session followed by brunch, plus time to surf and to explore the local area (or just relax in the beauty of Meda Gedara!) before another yoga class late afternoon followed by dinner.

The Yoga

We take a journey inward, to a place before the phenomenon of the senses, mind, and intelligence, before explanation or prejudice, judgment or reason.

Everything we perceive is an echo of a greater perception that existed long before us and will continue to exist way after our bodies perish.

The practice of yoga is withdrawing our attention to this origin.  So instead of living our lives through instincts, desires or fears we dwell in pure consciousness, developing the practice of being the silent witness, the observer of all that was, is and is yet to be, awakened to the bigger picture of our being.

This week away at the beautiful Meda Gedara Villa is designed to give you the tools to do exactly that.

Mornings take on a dynamic yet soulful flow to enliven the spirit and burn away the impediments that keep us from being in a state of yoga.

Evenings take on a more meditative practice that realigns the heart with the souls purpose; to shine your unique and radiant Self and to make this transient moment of life together here worth while.

The Venue

From the minute you step through the antique doors you will sense the haven of calm that this opulent boutique venue was designed to create.

Every part of this beautiful villa, from the magnificent spiralling teak staircase and vaulted ceilings to the sumptuous furniture, bed linen, and original artworks will leave you feeling relaxed, enlightened, and totally contented every moment of your stay.

In the grounds of the villa you’ll discover split level pools, and a stunningly designed Yoga Shala set amid carefully sculpted tropical gardens, and tall shady palms – as well as the views and energy of the Indian Ocean.

Meda Gedara is located on a breathtakingly beautiful quiet stretch of beach, boasting mesmerising views of the turquoise ocean. This not only affords guests the chance to watch the sun drop into the sea at the end of each day, it is also the perfect place to listen to the rhythmic sounds of the waves, and feel truly at one with your surroundings.

There are 7 magnificently designed bedrooms at Meda Gedara. Three have sea views, one is a private suite in the grounds of the beautiful gardens, and they are all available to enjoy for yourself, or share with friends, your partner, or a fellow yogi.

The villa also has absolutely gorgeous rooms for relaxation and entertainment. You can choose from the open planned living area with huge day beds and elegant armchairs, the air conditioned cinema room with projector and surround sound, or settle yourself on one of the chairs or sofas on the veranda and soak up that Indian Ocean view….

For alfresco fun and relaxation, you’ll be spoilt for choice. The gardens and beach are a delight to the senses!

Immerse yourself in the Jacuzzi and split level pools, or take the ultimate plunge with… wait for it… a ride on the 74ft water slide, which sweeps through the treetops into the pool! Or you could choose to just relax on the lawn beneath the palms.  It’s only a few steps out on to the soft white sands where you can take a dip in the turquoise waters as part of your daily wellness routine.
